Dr. Stanley Amernick joined the Katzen Eye Group in 2017. He graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School and completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Amernick is a board-certified Ophthalmologist, former Chief of Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, and has been practicing general ophthalmology for over 35 years.
Dr. Amernick performs routine as well as comprehensive eye examinations including the medical diagnosis and treatment of ocular problems. He also specializes in advanced techniques of small incision cataract surgery and has expertise in the use of toric and multifocal implants to reduce dependency on eyeglasses and contact lenses post-operatively. Dr. Amernick’s sub-specialty interest is in oculoplastics to surgically repair eyelid abnormalities. These procedures include the removal of excess skin of the upper and lower eyelids (blepharoplasty), repair of an eyelid droop (ptosis repair), and the repair of lower eyelids that turn in/out (ectropion/entropion).
In his spare time, he enjoys golf and making dollhouses for his four grandchildren.
