Katzen Eye Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Joseph B.
Harlan, Jr.

- Katzen Eye Group, the largest
private eye care center in Maryland, recently hired Dr.
Joseph B. Harlan as Director of Retinal Services.
Having completed a Vitreo-Retinal Disease and Surgery
Fellowship at The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins
Hospital, Dr. Harlan will provide his advanced knowledge and
experience to patients at both Katzen Eye Group locations in
Lutherville and Mercy Medical Center.

Harlan has joined our team of doctors at Katzen Eye Group,”
said Dr. Brett Katzen. “As Director of Retinal Services, Dr.
Harlan’s expertise will expand the level
of eye care we are able to provide for our patients.”
Born in Baltimore, Maryland,
Dr. Harlan received his undergraduate degree from University
of Virginia and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins
University. Dr. Harlan completed his medical internship at
Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, and then completed his
ophthalmology residency at The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns
Hopkins in Baltimore.
Dr. Harlan is dedicated to
the surgical and medical management of retinal disease. In
addition to authoring numerous papers on the subject, he
also helps educate others as a part time Assistant Professor
at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He is currently a member of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College
of Surgeons.
