After completing medical school at Alexandria University of Egypt, Dr. Orkubi held a yearlong clinical fellowship in pediatrics at Harvard medical school 1988. Following her fellowship, she began her residency in ophthalmology at the Bowman Gray/Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC in 1993. In 1995, she completed a combined fellowship in Glaucoma and Cornea at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1995, Dr. Orkubi served as an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at Drexel University School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Orkubi is an experienced cataract, glaucoma, and anterior segment surgeon. She is recognized by her patients and colleagues as an excellent teacher and surgeon in complex cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery. She is on the forefront of the latest technological advances, including multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and the most recent glaucoma surgical techniques.
