About Tania S. Marcic:
Dr. Marcic joined Katzen Eye Group in 2007. She was born in Takoma Park, MD, and went on to receive her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1998. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1996, as part of their 6-year biomedical program. Dr. Marcic then completed her medical internship at Mount Sinai at Elmhurst Hospital Center in 1999. Subsequently she completed her ophthalmology residency at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, in Queens, NY, while serving as chief resident in 2002. Her training was completed by a glaucoma subspecialty fellowship at George Washington University, in Washington, DC in 2003.
Dr. Marcic is dedicated to the surgical
and therapeutic management of glaucoma and has authored
numerous posters, presentations, and papers on the subject.
She is actively involved in teaching residents these techniques.
Her memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology,
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and
the American Glaucoma Society.
In her spare time, Dr. Marcic enjoys
the home arts, recreational athletics, music, and spending
time with her husband and children.
