What is LASIK?

LASIK, short for "laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, is a treatment used to correct most ranges of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. At Katzen Eye, we use the Intralase Method (a 100% blade-free technique) to cut a hinged flap in the cornea. CustomVue LASIK

CustomVue LASIK uses the WaveScan System to determine the unique imperfections of the cornea, allowing the surgeon to effectively deliver your personal best vision. The WaveScan provides a map, much like a fingerprint, that the doctor uses to create a specialized treatment plan for each patient. The IntraLase Method - It's Blade-Free

Now, with IntraLase, we are able to offer a LASIK procedure that is 100% blade-free. Using tiny, ultra-precise pulses of laser light, the surgeon can tailor-make the corneal flap for each patient, something not possible with the blade. Patients with certain types of corneas who were not previously candidates for LASIK may now be eligible using the IntraLase Method.
