The VisX Star S4 Laser combines wavefront technology with
innovative tracking mechanisms and improved ablation techniques
(the way the laser corrects the eye).
The advanced laser tracking technology
helps to ensure the best LASIK result possible. The “3D
ActiveTRAK” follows eye movements in all 3 dimensions
during surgery, while automatically centering the treatment
to the center of the pupil. Essentially, the laser locks
on to the center of the eye, matching the center of the
treatment plan to the center of the eye as the ablation
occurs, ensuring the laser is treating exactly as the surgical
plan directs even if the eye moves a little. If the laser
ever loses track of the eye’s center, it automatically
