Blepharoplasty and Brow Lifts

Dr. McCartney’s expertise provides our patients an option for conditions such as heavy, droopy lids, ‘bags’ or sagging lower lids and excess fat deposits around the eye.   By performing eyelid surgery, known as Blepharoplasty, or a Brow Lift procedure, Dr. McCartney can remove excess skin, fat or muscle from the upper and lower eyelids or brows, eliminating the tired, angry look that many patients are concerned about.

The Palomar StarLux 500 Platform can be used with a variety of application specific hand pieces. Under the direction of Dr Adler, the LuxG hand piece is used to treat pigmented and vascular areas and the Fractional hand piece is used for non-ablative skin resurfacing.

Cosmetic Injectables 

AESTHETICS by Katzen offers various cosmetic injectables such as BOTOX ® Cosmetics, Juvéderm, Radiesse, Cosmoderm, and Restylane. Many patients find injectables to be an ideal option for cosmetic enhancement. They are safe, associated with minimal discomfort and result in almost no downtime. Working only with FDA approved products patients are comfortably treated by a Board Certified Surgeon they know and trust.

BOTOX ® is the most popular cosmetic medical treatment in the Unites States and a favorite among men and women looking for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. BOTOX ® has a long history in Ophthalmology and was first used for spastic eyelid disorders in the 1980s. It is still the most effective treatment for blepharospasms.

Today, patients now have a fast and effective treatment for the lines and wrinkles which commonly develop near the forehead, brows, and eyes. Known as “expression lines,” these wrinkles are the result of years of muscle contraction from common facial expressions like squinting, frowning and smiling. By blocking the release of a chemical that causes these muscles to contract, BOTOX ® enables them to relax. The effects are localized and do not affect your ability to smile, laugh or show expression.

Essentially, it works by reducing the muscle contractions which cause wrinkles. When injected directly into facial muscles, it blocks the nerve signals which cause those muscles to contract. The targeted muscles gradually relax, and lines, furrows and creases fade or disappear altogether. This cosmetic procedure is a short acting, but long term wrinkle prevention treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Facial fillers are an excellent alternative in non-surgical facial rejuvenation. They are sometimes employed alone, but can also be an adjunct to BOTOX ®. They work by safely restoring lost volume under the skin thereby effacing wrinkles and emptiness from aging.


Some dermal fillers are better at targeting shallow facial lines and wrinkles, while other fillers are better at combating deeper wrinkles. In addition, vertical and horizontal facial lines have performed better with different types of fillers. Our cosmetic doctors on staff can determine which filler is the best choice for the lines that you want enhanced.

Restylane is a synthetic biodegradable Hyaluronic acid in the form of a gel. It binds to water molecules, resulting in a plump look to the injected area.

Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxyapatite, which is an inorganic substance similar to bone. This product specializes in targeting Nasolabial Folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

Juvéderm is an FDA approved, smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.

CosmoDerm mimics the natural effects of collagen to fill in fine lines and wrinkles near the eyes and on the forehead, as well as for restoration of the lip border.

Skin Care Products

The market is flooded with creams, lotions, and serums that claim to rejuvenate the skin. AESTHETICS by Katzen dispense products with prescription grade concentrations of active ingredients that have well-proven rejuvenative properties. Our Neocutis and PrevageMD anti-aging serum product lines allow us to create simple cost-effective regimens that work.

Neocutis is a bio-restorative skin cream that contains processed skin cell proteins. This product, made in Switzerland, uses the most complete combination of healing and growth factors including hyaluronic acid, cytokines and interleukins. Aside from the daily benefits of Neocutis, the products are excellent for treating post-procedure (laser) skin and can increase time between BOTOX ® injections. Neocutis is offered in the following formulas:
